About Me
A Career Built on Service
For 32 years, I had the honor of serving as a first responder. My journey began behind a console as an emergency services dispatcher where I received my first calling into law enforcement. I went on to serve 30 in law enforcement and retired after serving as a Chief of Police. Along the way, I had the immense privilege of standing shoulder-to-shoulder with incredible men and women—people who cared deeply for their communities and willingly to put everything on the line to protect others.
Carrying the Weight of the Badge
Over three decades, I witnessed firsthand how much the profession has evolved, and more importantly, how much our first responders and their families carry behind closed doors. The trauma, the difficult calls, and the cumulative weight of the job don't simply evaporate when the shift ends. I’ve seen those quiet impacts in the lives of my colleagues, and I’ve felt them in my own.
Through those experiences, I grew deeply convinced of one thing: caring for first responders cannot stop at physical safety or basic emotional wellness. True healing requires caring for the whole person—body, mind, and spirit. For me, that ultimate source of strength and healing is found in Jesus Christ.
The Next Assignment
I believe God hasn't called me to step back, but simply to step into a new assignment. Today, I serve as a First Responder Chaplain with Serving the Shield, where I also sit on the leadership team and serve as the REBOOT Recovery Project Coordinator.
My mission in this season is to walk alongside first responders and their families as they navigate trauma, build healthy coping mechanisms, cultivate long-term resiliency, and encounter the true hope found in a relationship with Christ. At the foot of the Cross, brokenness meets hope, burdens meet grace, and lives are genuinely restored for the glory of God.
This ministry is sustained through the prayers and financial support of people who care deeply about those who serve on our front lines. I would be honored to have you stand with me in this work.
