Cornerstone Christian Counseling and the First Responder Community

Sean and Angie Taylor, Co-Founders of Cornerstone Christian Counseling

Hi there! We're Sean and Angie Taylor, co-founders of Cornerstone Christian Counseling — and we're grateful for the chance to share a little about who we are and what we do.

We started Cornerstone back in 2009 with a simple desire: to provide people with counseling care that is both clinically excellent and biblically sound. We believe the most effective path to healing blends God's wisdom and guidance with the tools and techniques from psychological research that have been proven to help people get from where they're at to where they ultimately want to be.

Today, we have over 40 counselors serving clients across six locations along the Front Range — from Colorado Springs all the way up to Westminster — and online throughout the state.

One of the areas closest to our hearts is serving the first responder community. We know that the men and women who run toward danger every single day carry an enormous weight — trauma, burnout, anxiety, relational strain. Things that don't just stay at work. And we know that the culture around mental health in these professions can make it incredibly hard to ask for help.

That's why we've built a dedicated team of Certified First Responder Counselors — people who understand the unique challenges of this world — who offer confidential, judgment-free care. We use evidence-based approaches like EMDR and Brainspotting, specifically designed to process trauma, and we integrate them with Christ-centered compassion. Because the wounds first responders carry aren't just emotional — they're often spiritual too.

Our heart is that no one who serves our communities should have to suffer in silence. We believe God's desire for all of us — including those on the front lines — is to heal, grow, and thrive.

And by the way, that includes you — the chaplains reading this. You pour yourselves out caring for others. You carry what others can't. We want you to know that Cornerstone is a place where you can come for support too.

We're here for you — and we'd be honored to walk alongside you and the community you serve.
